Terms & Privacy
Last updated October 4, 2026.
Educational use only
MedChem Manta is a study tool for learning medicinal chemistry: vocabulary, pattern recognition, and SAR reasoning. It is not medical, clinical, prescribing, or regulatory advice, and it is not a substitute for the primary literature, official drug labeling, or the judgment of a qualified chemist or pharmacologist.
Drug data, mechanisms, liabilities, and SAR explanations are simplified for teaching and may contain errors or omissions. Do not rely on this app for any real drug-design, clinical, or regulatory decision.
Price & purchases
MedChem Manta is a paid app, bought once through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Billing, currency, refunds, and any dispute are handled by that store under its own terms and refund policy, not by us. The store tells us how many copies were sold; it never shares your payment details with us.
Updates & availability
Your purchase is a one-time payment for the app as it is. We may release updates, such as content corrections, new material, or fixes, but we don't promise them for any set period, and we may stop updating the app or remove it from sale at any time.
Because the app runs entirely on your device, with no server behind it, a copy you've installed keeps working after updates stop, for as long as your device's operating system still runs it. Your progress can always be exported from Settings.
No warranty
This app is provided "as is," with no warranty of any kind, including accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose. Use it at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, there is no liability for any loss or damage arising from reliance on its content. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived.
Data sources & attribution
Drug structures, names, and mechanism-of-action data are sourced from ChEMBL, EMBL-EBI, used under CC BY-SA 3.0.
Metabolite structures and identifiers reference PubChem, National Library of Medicine (NIH), a public-domain U.S. government database.
Fragment, bioisostere, metabolite, and concept explanations are original to this project, written with reference to standard textbooks and the primary literature (cited per entry).
If you redistribute the underlying ChEMBL-derived data (not just screenshots or references), the same license and attribution requirement travels with it: "Data from ChEMBL, EMBL-EBI."
Your data & privacy
MedChem Manta has no account, no sign-in, and no server backend. Everything the app tracks (quiz and flashcard review history, FSRS scheduling state, and display preferences) is stored only on this device, inside the app.
Nothing you do in the app is sent to us or to any third party. The app has no analytics and no tracking, and makes no network requests of its own. Deleting the app or moving to a new device loses your progress unless you've exported it first from Settings.
The one exception is buying the app (see Price & purchases above). The App Store or Google Play, not us, collects whatever payment and account information it requires, under its own privacy policy.
Our website. medchemmanta.com, the page that describes the app, counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It uses no cookies and doesn't identify individual visitors. It is separate from the app: nothing you do in the app reaches the website.
If a synced-progress feature is ever added, this section will be rewritten before that ships, and it will say plainly what leaves the device.
Acceptable use
Don't scrape or bulk-reproduce this app's content without the attribution above, and don't present its simplified explanations as validated medical or regulatory guidance elsewhere.
Changes
These terms may be updated as the app changes. Continued use after an update means you accept the current version.
